Junior Contractor: story + workbook pairs

Each Junior Contractor Story follows one kind of real construction project. Its matching workbook turns the same build into hands-on math, measuring and problem solving. Written by N. E. Hall, a commercial construction estimator on Long Island with more than twenty years of experience pricing schools, firehouses, bridges, parks and towers.

How classrooms use them

  1. Read-aloud or book club. One chapter a day of a Junior Contractor Story, each opened by an illustration.
  2. Do the build. The matching workbook's measuring and jobsite math pages turn the chapter into a STEM activity.
  3. Look around. Kids start noticing how the school, the firehouse and the park down the street actually got built.
